Bright Spots!

Kay is crowned
Ms. Weight Watchers Inspiration
Award 2011
Standing ovation by 50 members!
What a great meeting we had today. Besides crowning Bright Spot Kay with her Lifetime Achievement Award (2 1/2 years in the making!), we learned from some of our other Bright Spots how to lose weight effectively.

What is a Bright Spot? To get the best scoop on Bright Spots, read this article: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/142/switch-how-to-change-things-when-change-is-hard.html
Bright Spots are those folks who are doing something right. They are the people we can learn from.

Gloria is a Bright Spot! Gloria told us that she is accountable to an exercise buddy. She also carefully tracked her food for the first few months, but now she says she can track in her head. Wow. She lost almost 40 pounds to reach her goal, so she knows what she's talking about. Gloria also said she planned her trips around her meetings- she realized how vital ATTENDING MEETINGS were to her success.

Jan also appreciates meetings. She is a Bright Spot who has lost almost 50 pounds! Online Weight Watchers only got her so far; she knew she had to come back to meetings. Besides the meetings, she makes effective use of etools. With these tools in her weight loss toolbox, she's making steady progress  towards her goal.

Recently awarded Lifetime status, Debi is another Bright Spot. She said meetings and tracking got her to goal. Even though she has finished maintenance, she is still attending meetings.

All Bright Spots had TRACKING in common. I was counting on that when I asked for the Bright Spot's best advice. Weight Watchers works best when people take the time to track their food and figure out their wisest choices. Yet, I was surprised how many Bright Spots said meetings were also vital to their success. (Guess I shouldn't have been.)

Would you like to become a Weight Watchers Bright Spot? Someone who sets the example of successful weight loss and maintenance? Take it from our experts- Attend meetings, get an exercise buddy, explore and use etools and make sure to track.

Shine on!
