5 SUGAR THOUGHTS to CHANGE YOUR LIFE

1.  There are FOUR GRAMS of sugar in a teaspoon. You need to memorize this important fact so you can evaluate a Nutrition Facts label and decide if a food or drink item is worth consuming!
  • Is ten teaspoons of sugar in a 12 oz. Coke worth it?
  • Is 14 teaspoons in a Cinnabon worth it?
  • Are 28 ADDED teaspoons of sugar in an 8 oz. cup of Yo-Mercer frozen chocolate yogurt worth it?    http://www.yocream.com/frozen_yogurt.php Yes, there are 20 grams of sugar in a 4 oz. serving. I figure 6 grams comes from the lactose, milk sugar, itself. (That's because there are 12 grams of lactose in skim milk.) Do the math! Make a decision. Yes, the yogurt is fat-free, beware!
2.  Fat-free or low fat items generally have MORE SUGAR. Fat has been demonized as the culprit  making us fat. When fat is added to foods, we actually feel more satisfied. Eating or drinking sugar foods just makes us want more! Do the research.

3.  Even though there are more fat-free foods and artificial sweeteners on the market, Americans continue to gain weight. Something is wrong with this picture. Is it because artificial sweeteners and fat-free foods don't work? Do the research.

4.  Refined sugar contributes to many diseases. Over 100 medical conditions are caused or aggravated by sugar consumption. Do your own research!

5.  Don't take my word for it. Go to YOUTUBE and or search the web for "Dangers of Sugar" and see what you come up with. Over a million people have devoted 90 minutes to the video below. If 90 minutes is too long for you, google articles about Dr. Lustig and you'll be surprised what you'll read. DO THE RESEARCH!!!!

I just checked in with the folks at Yocreme who supply YoMercer with their yogurt. My math was pretty right on! Buyer beAware! You'll want to start reading labels and understanding how much sugar or fat is in your food and drink.
