Most of us have a food that has some kind of hold on us, derailing our efforts to be successful. Lately, I have been in the thrall of XXXX- the food-that-shall-not-be-named. (Why tempt you with a new thought?)
Right now I am determined to lose another couple of pounds. Today, when I went to the grocery store- (actually I went to three grocery stores) - I didn't buy it at any of them. (Bravo, bravo ) And since I didn't buy it- I also didn't eat it as I was driving home. (Another bad habit I've slipped back into! )
Now this food-that-shall-not-be-named is not even a high PointsPlus Value item. Yet, I know it is keeping me from success. I just don't have room in my food plan for this food-that-shall-not-be-named if I am serious about losing more weight. (See blog below- eat fruit!)
What food-that-shall-not-be-named is holding you back?
I know from the past that if I can make it grocery shopping a few more times- maybe a month- without buying the food-that-shall-not-be-named, I will win the battle. I will eventually let that food recede back into the same place where Ralston's Chocolate Chip Cookie cereal now lives. I used to buy CCC cereal- (wow, cookies and milk for breakfast!) but not anymore. That was a BAD HABIT. Habits can be changed. Habits MUST be changed to LOSE and LIVE at GOAL.
Change your habit. Don't buy YOUR food-that-shall-not-be-named for a few days, which will turn into weeks- until it becomes a habit.
Success is yours- one conquered habit at a time!

Update from Laurie. I am happy to announce that I only lapsed one time since posting this blog a couple months ago. (Ate one and gave the rest to my kids.) And NOW I have conquered it. That food is out of my life, out of my car and off my waistline!
I knew if I could do it with one temptation, I could do it with another. Success leads to success.
