The Beatles Were Right!

Our meeting has seen tremendous success for people who have a diet buddy.

Some diet buddies are spouses. Over the past year, we've had three married couples experiencing tremendous weight losses by changing their eating habits together. Each couple has lost over 100 pounds! Even if your spouse doesn't join WWers, chances are they can/will lose weight just by your influence if they are supportive. If you go out to eat together, your spouse can help by choosing WWer friendly dishes (in order not to tempt you with old favorites) or by splitting an entree with you. A spouse's support can go a long way towards your success.

Other diet buddies can be friends or people you meet at a Weight Watchers meeting. I have my own diet buddy that I met at a meeting. We strengthen each other by making daily or weekly commitments via email. Others text or simply use the phone.

When I led my very first WWer meeting a few years ago, four gals joined together. They cheered for each other, shared recipes and strengthened their friends through plateaus. Another set of four gals joined and they had a marvelous time together. Two of the four became lifetime members.

One Bellevue member sent out an email to her mailing list, announcing she was newly on Weight Watchers and could use help anyone wanted to give. This gal was just asking for support but instead she got TEN friends and relatives to join her meeting and generate success together! (Now how fun would that be?!)

ASKING FOR HELP is one of the Weight Watchers Tools for Living. Ask for help when you need it. Think about it. How many people succeed in something monumental on their own? Team work is a key for success- someone is strong where you need help and in return, you help when they need one of your strengths.

Boy, doesn't this segue nicely into the fact that at a Weight Watchers meeting you get SUPPORT! The people in the room become your diet buddies- they cheer you on- they share recipes and good food finds- they admire your increased exercise commitments. Your leader and receptionist give you personal attention and if you don't feel it- ask for it!

Dieting is a huge undertaking, but we get by with a little help from our friends. We're gonna try with a little help from our friends. See- the Beatles had it exactly right.
