Giving Away Your Big Clothes....

OK, Laurie, a big question.

When do I trust that I will hold weight off that I have taken off, and give away the clothes that are now too large for me?

Dear Friends- the above letter came from one of our members. I need your help to answer this gal's question. Please feel free to answer HERE on the blog. You can do it anonymously. Or you can write me at leaderlaurie@aol.com and I will pass on your thoughts.
Thanking your in advance for any thoughts you can share.

I have found it best to donate them to charity as soon as you can.

I have given mine to friends - only to stop myself short of calling to ask for a few items back!

I have hung them in a closet in a separate part of our house - only to raid that closet when my new
size did not quite fit.

I have taken them to WW meetings
and offered them to others - the best idea yet!

For me, when I reached a 10 pound marker, I always bought a very nice outfit at the outlet mall. It wasn't that hard to give up as I lost more weight, but it was sure a treat to put on whenever I had the chance! It was always a
quick reminder that I had accommplished my weight loss for myself and I could finally let others see my success.

We all go through trials and tribulations as we walk this journey. For me, it was always best to divorce myself from
that out grown size and move on.
I've had to purchase an outfit or two at Target when I sneak back up but it's sure a motivator when I have to wash it each night to make it work one more time.....

Treat yourself to shedding the clothes - YOU have shed the weight!!

If you don't get rid of the big clothes, or at least get them out of your closet, you can fool yourself into thinking you're thinner than you are. When tight pants feel loose around the waist and thighs, and you're still wearing them, it's easy to tell yourself "Well, I AM thinner" as you eat a bigger portion or a really high point item. Clothes that fit, even while you're still losing, help you keep your goal in mind.
Can't bring yourself to part with them? Then put them in a plastic bag under a bed. Don't hang in a different closet--that makes them seem still wearable.
