The Jewish New Year is all about doing things BETTER- striving for perfection in various areas of our lives. As I pondered what things in of my life to improve on and fix, I decided to make a "New Year's resolution" for something that's been nagging at me: noshing while preparing meals.
Usually I nosh on planned snacks, but when I run out of healthy noshes, I resort to other items to satisfy my snacking urge. I have found that I can eat a full meal's worth of POINTS before the meal is served, thus, no dinner (or tiny dinner) for Laurie!
This has got to end. Noshing while cooking is a really bad habit. I've got tons and tons of cooking coming up this month (uh- try 19 holiday meals with in a month). I'm going to be in the kitchen for more hours than usual. Here I am publicly committing to no noshing while cooking. And I've already got a day and a half under my belt. (Ta-da, my belt is looser already!)
What can you do that is HARD, that will spur on your weight loss? Find that thing that you know is holding you back- and tell someone about it or write it down- and do it!
As human beings we have tremendous powers. Animals work off of instinct. Try telling a lion to wait for his meal when he's hungry. We have power over our instincts because we are human. What can you DO? How will you summon up all your power for success and accomplish your goal?
Do something hard- because:
BEING OVERWEIGHT IS HARD
LOSING WEIGHT IS HARD
MAINTAINING YOUR WEIGHT IS HARD
CHOOSE WHICH HARD YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH...
BEING OVERWEIGHT IS HARD
LOSING WEIGHT IS HARD
MAINTAINING YOUR WEIGHT IS HARD
CHOOSE WHICH HARD YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH...
CHOOSE YOUR HARD THING AND CONQUER IT. YOU CAN DO IT. THIS IS THE SEASON!
